Cleta Joyce Williams

Cleta Joyce (Williamson) Williams was born to Ruby (Johnson) and Hezikiah Williamson in Gene Autry, Oklahoma.  She was born July 18, 1935, and departed this life in the Red Oak Health & Rehabilitation Center in Red Oak, TX on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 1:31 P.M. She was 88 years old.

Cleta grew up in Ardmore, OK and graduated from Douglas High School with the Class of 1954. Cleta moved to Oklahoma City after her graduation and raised her son, Richard there. Cleta met and married Clyde Williams and he preceded her in death in April 21, 2007, after many wonderful years of marriage.

After Richard was old enough to start school, Cleta began working for JCPenney from 1969 until 1974. After that she became a housewife, caring for her son and family.  Cleta continued to live in Oklahoma City until her health declined and her son, Richard, moved her to Ovilla, TX to live with him.

Cleta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 brothers, Jimmy Williamson, and Marvin Roy Williamson.

Cleta is survived by her son, Richard Dale Williamson, and wife Lanecia; 2 Granddaughters, Stacy Lee Harris and Zodra Williamson; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; Her sisters, Betty Joe Christian, Ruthie Mae Williamson, Gwendolyn Ann Williamson, Shirley Williamson and Virginia Williamson; 1 bother, Hezikiah Williamson, Jr. Cleta also leaves behind those she loved and adored: a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
