Ricci Cortez Albert, affectionately known as "Pickle," was born on February 3, 1981, in Memorial Hospital in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He peacefully departed this life on January 5, 2025, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, surrounded by thoughts of love and reassurance as he continued to tell those around him not to worry, insisting he would be okay.

Ricci led a life rich in experiences and filled with an unwavering spirit. He was a jack of all trades, embracing the role of a lumberjack in recent years by cutting and selling wood. Throughout his career, Ricci also showcased his hardworking nature in various roles, including housekeeping at a local hospital and working at the windmill factory in Gainesville, Texas.

An enthusiastic learner, Ricci's educational journey began at Marietta Public School System before he transitioned to attending Ardmore Public Schools. He later earned his GED from Thunderbird Academy, showcasing not only his commitment to education but also the importance he placed on hard work and determination.

Beyond work, Ricci was well-known for his vibrant personality. He possessed a beautiful smile that lit up any room and an innate ability to connect with people. Never one to judge others, Ricci had a unique perspective that saw no differences among individuals. He was the life of the party, effortlessly making everyone laugh and ensuring that those around him felt welcome and valued.

Ricci’s love for fishing was deeply rooted, learned at a young age while spending time with his grandmother in various creeks and ponds throughout Love County. This passion brought him joy and countless memories that he cherished throughout his life.

Ricci held his three children, Ricci Albert Palmer, Jackzon "Tiny" Palmer, and Keauna Webb, close to his heart along with his grandchild, Ashton Cole Cortez Palmer.  His proudest accomplishment was being their father, and grandfather, a role he embraced with unparalleled love and devotion.

Ricci leaves behind three brothers, JD Douglas and Lisa, Mondrai Curry, and P.J. Curry, his  cousin/sister, Naomi Albert; along with his devoted companion, Sandra Rodes. His father, Andrea Curry.  He is also survived by his aunts, Mary Allen, Edna Albert, and adopted aunt, Ernie Faulkner, and uncles, Andy Joe Albert and Willie Drennan, with special acknowledgment of his adopted grandfather, Homer Carman. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends and acquaintances.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Verna Mae Albert, and his maternal grandparents, Judge and Vernie Clayton Albert.

Ricci Cortez Albert's vibrant spirit and the positive mark he left on the lives of others will be fondly remembered. He truly was a friend to all and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

A viewing will be held on January 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Kirk Funeral Home in Ardmore, Oklahoma. The funeral service will take place the following day, January 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Bethel Union Baptist Church in Marietta, Oklahoma.
